Healthy Living NT provides free, high-quality diabetes education services to all people with diabetes, pre-diabetes and those at risk, living in the Northern Territory. Our services are supported by the Northern Territory Government and delivered by qualified diabetes nurse educators and dietitians.

Diabetes Education Services
Getting Started Group
The Getting Started Group will provide the essential information and practical tips you need to begin managing your diabetes and supporting your health.
Available in Tiwi, Palmerston and Alice Springs
Regional delivery now available in Katherine, Tennant Creek and Nhulunbuy
Gestational Diabetes Education
This group session will provide you with practical information and support to help you manage your blood glucose levels and look after your health and your baby’s health.
Gestational Diabetes Education Session is also available online for people living outside the Darwin region
Individual Education
One-on-one education appointments for people with diabetes or pre-diabetes. Our qualified diabetes nurse educators and dietitians work with you to address your specific health needs and goals.
Available face to face and telehealth

Our educators work with you, your family, and carers to understand your condition and develop practical management strategies. Whether you're newly diagnosed or managing diabetes long-term, we offer flexible education options tailored to your needs - no doctor's referral required.
We provide services across Darwin, Alice Springs, Palmerston and remote communities throughout the NT. If you can't attend in person, we offer telehealth consultations. Qualified interpreters are available upon request.
Family members and carers play an important role in diabetes management. We encourage them to attend education sessions to better understand and support your care journey.
School Visits – Our educators work with schools to support children with type 1 diabetes and educate staff and students about the condition.
Corporate Education – We offer workplace wellness sessions on diabetes and heart disease prevention and management. (Note: Information provided is general in nature and not intended as individual management plans. Bookings require four weeks' notice; charges may apply.)
Community Health Promotion – Our team is available for community events and awareness activities.
